AN ITALIAN BRONZE FINIAL, in late 16th Century
style, of a naked warrior, a shield cast with a rampant
lion at his feet, holding a candleholder in his right hand,
4′Ain. high (10.8cm.) on later base.

AN ITALIAN BRONZE BUST of Seneca, after the
antique, green-brown patina, on bronze socle, 53Ain. high
(14.6cm.) circa 1800, on marble base.

AN ITALIAN BRONZE SPHINX in the manner ofZoffoli, the couchant beast with lambrequin harness chiselled with scrolling acanthus, green patina, 9′/2tn. long (24cm.) probably Rome,

late 18th Century, black marble base.

AN ITALIAN BRONZE BUST of Dionysus Mystes, after the antique, green-brown patina, on bronze socle, 53Ain. high (14.6cm.) circa 1800, on marble base.

A PAIR OF FRENCH BRONZE FIGURES, in the manner
of Thomire, each with flowers in her elaborately plaited
hair and one hand raised above her head, in flowing
dresses, dark brown patina, 12′Mn. high (31cm.) late
18th Century, on cylindrical green marble and ormolu
socles, both with drill holes for missing attachments,
probably in the form of cornucopia.

A GERMAN BRONZE STAG HEAD, the antlers with ten points, the details of the head sharply chiselled, attached to a candlestick drip pan, 4in. high (lOcm.) the head circa 1600, the

drip pan 17th/18th Century.

AN ITALIAN BRONZE MOUNT cast in relief in the form of a bust of a young god wreathed in ivy, scroll Shoulders, 3in. high (7.8cm.), 18th Century.

A VENETIAN BRONZE CENTREPIECE in 16th Century
style, triangular base with three claw feet, the stem with
three addorsed mermen supporting three putti and sur-
mounted by a further putto, seated, playing a lyre,,
15V2in. (39cm.).

A LEAD FIGURE OF CHRONOS, holding an hour
glass in his right hand, his body haunched over, 9′/2In.
high (24cm.) 18th Century, wings and scythe wanting, on
oakbase.

A FRENCH BRONZE BUST of Sully, head slightly
incline to dexter with broad ruff, draped robes, 33Ain.
(9.5cm.) 19th Century, on alabaster base.
V An ivory bust of the same sitter but as a younger man by Joseph Rosset was sold in these rooms, 18th April 1968.

AN ITALIAN BRONZE FIGURE OF THE DYING
GLADIATOR, after the antique, outstretched on an oval
base cast with a sword, shield and trumpet, greenish-
brown patina, 3V2in. high (9cm.), 18th Century, mounted
on a later marble base.

A CHARMING BRONZE MOUNT IN THE FORM OF A WOMAN, with low eut bodice, elaborately dressed hair, two pierced holes for mounting and a loop on her head, 5V2in. high (14cm.),

probably Augsburg, 16th Century.

A SMALL ITALIAN BRONZE FIGURE of the Medici
Lion, the beast pacing to the left, with finely chiselled
mane, yellow-brown patina, 41Min. (10.5cm.) 18th Century,
on a marble base.
V The marble sculpture called the “Medici Lion” was first recorded as being in the Loggia dei Lanzi, Florence by Flaminio Vacca in 1594.

AN ITALIAN BRONZE FIGURE OF THE DANCING
FAUN, after the antique, dark brown patina, on bronze
socle, 13′Ain. (34.2cm.) 18th Century.

A BRONZE NEST OF WEIGHTS, hinged hasp, one interior weight missing, VMn. (4cm.) 18th Century.

A BRONZE MINIATURE VERSION of a Roman Monu-
ment, 5V2tn. high (14.5cm.)

AN ITALIAN, LEAD PLAQUETTE of the Virgin, Child
and St. John, after Raphael, 18th/19th Century, 4in.
diameter (10.2cm.)

A FRENCH BRONZE FIGURE of an infant triton,
probably from a mantel clock, blowing a trumpet shell,
his left hand raised to rein the (missing) seahorse,
original gilding almost completely removed, 6in. high
(15.2cm.) late 18th Century, on rectangular green marble
base

A BRONZE MEDAL, after Nicolas Ledere and Jean de Saint-Priest; obverse with Louis XII, reverse with Anne de Bretagne, 43/sin. diameter (11.lern.) later cast   ?30-50
